In the Name of Garibaldi. Relations Between the Italian and Spanish Fringe Masonry (1881-1914).
In the second half of the 19th century, the Masonic Obediences were born, known by the term Fringe Masonry (minority Freemasonry), which maintained close relations both with occultist groups or those dedicated to magical practices, as well as with other Western esoteric currents. In particular, the Italians and the Spanish one closely interacted and collaborated, using, even instrumentally, the figure of Giuseppe Garibaldi. Despite the marginality of this phenomenon, it does not cease to be relevant and, therefore, deserves to be the object of attention and analysis, given the connection and interdependence between the two countries in the Masonic sphere.
