Abstract

in which — taking as example the German participation to the 1929 Barcelona’s International Exhibition — the Author analyzes the socio-political role played in these years by the great Universal Exhibitions. At the same time she looks into the German participation, exposing the different sides of the question, i.e. the political and economical relationships between Spain and Germany, and the contacts between the German colony in Catalonia and the local “catalanistas” politicians.

Marició Janué i Miret, Universitat Pompeu Fabra de Barcelona

Marició Janué i Miret è ricercatrice del Programma Ramon y Cajal (MEC), presso il Departament d’Humanitats della Universitat Pompeu Fabra de Barcelona. La sua tesi di dottorato è stata sul cambio politico a Barcellona nel corso del Sexenio (1868-1873). Attualmente si occupa di un progetto di ricerca su “Élites, política, cultura y poder en las relaciones hispano-alemanas, 1870-1945”. Fra le sue pubblicazioni più recenti, Polítics en temps de revolució: la vida política a Barcelona (1868-1873) (Vic, 2002), La nova Alemanya. Problemes i reptes de la unificació (Vic, 2003) e La Diputació Revolucionària 1868-1874 (Barcelona, 2003).
