Resumen

Irredentismos Nationalist instrumentalization: Gibraltar and Spanish nationalism.

With the Utrecht os Treaty of 1713 Spain had to give Gibraltar Rock to England. Since then Gibraltar has always been a paramount topic of Spanish nationalism. The essay gives a detailed reconstruction of the many arguments given in favour of Gibraltar’s re-conquest by many politicians and intellectuals. The conclusion emphasizes how Gibraltar has been one of the few topics on which there has been no conflict between the different Spanish ideological families.
