Il teatro barocco nella prospettiva letteraria del primo Ottocento
Abstract
The baroque theatre in the literary perspective of the early nineteenth century
The classicists tried to restore the theatre of the Siglo de Oro by the refundiciones or adopting it as a partial dramatic pattern. The romantic dramatists looked with interest at the seventeenth century world, but found an original way of their own in which freedom from rules and subtlety of nuances reflected the teachings of the baroque theatre.
