The archetype: Ronald Fraser’s contribution to the oral sources for the Spanish Civil War historiography
Ronald Fraser’s Blood of Spain is a milestone in the history of historiography. The book is still considered an archetypical study on the Spanish Civil War, since it adds a hermeneutic dimension to the research on memory and subjectivity and their relationship with oblivion during the Transition, while fruitfully integrating oral and traditional sources, especially in war and repression settings.
