Abstract

Some cultural problems of the Forties in Spain.

As it is known, the other aspect of the missive intellectual emigration that followed the civil war, is called exilio interior. This essay examines how the control of the news, censorship and self-censorship, the use of some myths (e. g. that of Caudillo, of the coming of a new time, of the peculiarity and national unity) and the strategy of oblivion can particularly affect the process of the artistic and literary creation, in the years of Francoist totalitarianism.
