Abstract

El Carlismo en el cinematografía española: la frustración en la victoria

Spanish cinema has spread a vision of Carlism essentially bound to the different moments of war of its history, even if it has been used as a temporal frame for adapting to the screen some important Spanish literary works, such as Zalacaín el Aventurero or La Punyalada. In the Franco’s period the official institutions did not help towards the creation of a really Carlist trend, notwithstanding the paramount importance of this political movement in the victory and consolidation of the Nationalists in the Civil War. This gives another example of the so-called “frustración en la Victoria” for the legitimist monarchists.
