Resumen

L’arcipelago Icaria e l’isola Barataria. La didattica della storia e delle scienze sociali nell’ultimo decennio

In the last fifteen year the Spanish educational system has undergone many reforms, thus fostering the growth of several proposals for renewing the teaching of history and of the social sciences, especially in the compulsory education. The essay analyses the activity of some groups engaged in such activity, bound in the so-called Federación Icaria. Their main aim is to develop in the pupils a critical approach both to studying in general, and to the school and society organisation. A special attention is given to the teaching materials prepared by Insula Barataria, a group of teachers who propose the teaching of history starting from the analysis of present-day social problems, in order to educate students to democratic dialectics so to become participating and responsible citizens.
