Resumen

The Imperial Discourse and its Limits: Hispanization and Youth Framing in the Province of Sahara (1961-1975).

The provincialization of Spanish Sahara was performed by using a wide set of mechanisms aimed at representing a space of coexistence within the Spanish Nation. Youth organizations like the Spanish Youth Organization (OJE) or certain actions of the Female Section of the Spanish Fascist Party (SF) were part of the mestizaje discourse of Franco’s regime. Nonetheless, those aculturation efforts were challenged by the anticolonial mobilization of Sahrawi youth.
