Resumen

The University Spanish Union. Fascist Students, the Italian Example and the Fight against Democracy in Spain (1931-1936)

The Spanish University Student Union (SEU) was created immediately after the founding of the fascist party Spanish Falange, in the autumn of 1933. It brought together Falangist university students and was largely inspired by the activism and organization of the Italians Gruppi universitari fascisti (GUF). This paper analyzes the similarities and differences between both organizations in the struggle for power and in the first steps of the consolidation of the respective fascist dictatorships.
