Andrea Miccichè

Andrea Miccichè is currently an associate professor at the University of Enna Kore. His main work has been on the history of regional autonomies in a comparative context, Sicilian history in the republican era and contemporary Spanish history, with a particular focus on nationalism, Spanish and Basque socialism, and finally, the internal migration processes during Francoism. He has also been involved in the teaching of The Didactics of History. He is a member of the editorial board for the magazine “Spagna Contemporanea” and contributes to Italian and Spanish contemporary history magazines. He is part of the working group for the research project, “Sociabilidad, identidad y culturas políticas en la España contemporánea. Un estudio de caso en perspectiva comparada”, by the University of the Basque Country. His latest monograph, Sicily and the Fifties. The Decade of Autonomy (“La Sicilia e gli anni Cinquanta. Il decennio dell’autonomia”), was the winner of the SISSCO Anci-Storia award.
