Abstract

The political language of Spanish Falange and the linguistic politics against the minority languages of Spain.

This essay analyses the political language of the Falange, considered as the instrument of a centratist, repressive and nationalist power in contrast with the minority languages of Spain. Starting from the program of the political and linguistic regionalism in the speeches of the Right, the analysis is concentrated on the role of the language as a means of support and vehicle of diffusion of the Falangist politics aimed at the national unity and at the destruction of the cultural and the literary hingings of the linguistic minorities.
