Abstract

The impact of the Spanish civil war in Northern-Europe,with special reference to Iceland 1936-1939

This article summarizes the doctoral dissertation discussed by the Author in 1992 at the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid. The examination of newspapers, parliamentary debates and political discussion among parties and unions illuminates Iceland’s outlook on the Spanish conflict and its repercussions on the island’s life, both at ideologic and economic level.
