Abstract
The Spanish Civil War Language: The Semantic Contra- positions.
The essay studies the language of a sample of Spanish newspapers published during the Civil War both on the Republican and the Nationalist sides. It discovers the twelve main semantic contrapositions and gives a series of enlightening examples, whilst in the con- clusion it dwells on the linguistic contrapositions existing within every one of the two fìghting sides.
