Abstract

Luis Araquistáin, Ambassador in Berlin (1932-1933).

The article tells of the period spent in Berlin as Spanish ambassador by the socialist intellectual Luis Araquistáin from 1932 to 1933, i.e. from the end of the Weimar Republic to the first few months of the Nazi régime. The German Social Democracy’s failure caused a great impact on Araquistáin. After 1933 this would directly affect the evolution of Spanish socialism, leading it towards more revolutionary attitudes.
