The comparative analysis of the Spanish theatre version of ¡Ay, Carmela! by the director José Luis Gómez, the Carlos Saura’s movie and the Italian theatrical play by Angelo Savelli gives the chance of understanding the richness of the original José Sanchis Sinistierra’s text, and of revealing the work’s deep meaning of political denunciation.
