Abstract

Podemos and Europe: How «hacer posible lo imposible»

The essay examines the relationship between Spanish politics and Europe and the breakdown of the post-transition bipartisan model following the 2008 financial crisis. The focus is on Podemos, a party founded on the occasion of the European elections in 2014, on the wave of indignation and euroscepticism, and then arrived – not without internal conflicts and polemics – at the Moncloa in the first coalition government of democratic Spain.

Daniela Carpani è professore di Lengua, cultura e instituciones de los países hispanófonos presso il Dipartimento di Scienze politiche dell’Università di Genova. Fra le sue linee di ricerca, le cronache di viaggio del XVI secolo, le nuove forme di comunicazione politica nella Spagna contemporanea e lo studio del contatto linguistico in ambito migratorio con speciale attenzione all’interazione e al plurilinguismo.
