Abstract
La Spagna ritrovata: il ritorno dall’esilio. I casi di Francisco Ayala e María Zambrano
During the Civil War and Franco’s first years of dictatorship many intellectuals left Spain for a temporary or definitive exile. After Franco’s death their return shall divide the public opinion, which generally will pay a very hearty welcome to those who return. The exiles have formed an idea of Fatherland which has to be con- fronted with reality. Many shall be sadly disappointed realising to have idealised too much their Country, few others shall keep a more detached and realistic vision. For Francisco Ayala and María Zambrano Spain is one of the topics most visited in their writings. The former, especially, offers deep analysis on the Country’s situation in the Seventies, discussing also difficult subjects, such as nationality and nationalisms, the political parties’ functions, the form of government, the relationship with Europe.
