Intérprete y portavoz. La figura del diputado en las elecciones de 1854 en España
Abstract
The 1854 Spanish elections, held under a property-based franchise, took place in a political climate which favoured a high turnout. A significant number of candidates published manifestoes on the press which serve as evidence of the representation patterns typical of the political culture of that time. The analysis of these manifestoes is the core of the article, where the profile of Cortes members is outlined.
