Abstract

The section opens with the second part (the first was published on “Spagna contemporanea”, 2007, n. 32, pp. 131-159) of Alfonso Botti’s essay on the papers of Madrid’s Apostolic Nunciature on the Spanish Civil War’s years kept in the Secret Vatican Archives (ASV). The first part dealt with files from n. 966 to 978, the second one studies files 968-978. Of special interest are the documents related to the Basque nationalist clergy, to the organization of repatriation of the children evacuated before Bilbao’s fall and to the Holy See’s attitudes face to the towns’ bombings.
