Abstract

World War I and the neutrality of Spain: historiographic tradition and new research trends

The study of the role of Spain during WWI has often been neglected by Spanish historiography. This is partly because Spain occupied a secondary position in worldwide contemporary politics, and partly because of commonplaces and the historiographic tradition. Despite this, in recent years new research trends have been started, offering new perspectives on Spain.
