Ottorino Orlandini: un popolare antifranchista nella Guerra civile spagnola
Abstract
Ottorino Orlandini, an Italian anti-Fascist activist who joined the Italian Popular Party and, after a peri- od of exile in France, fought in the International Brigades, «because where you fight for freedom you fight for Christianity», Don Sturzo maintained. His memories are an interesting testimony of how a Catholic could fight along with the Spanish Popular Front. Orlandini was in Spain until January 1939, then took part in the liberation of Paris, joined the Italian Resistenza and became a Christian Democratic activist after the war.
