Abstract

The trivialization of FET-JONS

Due to the quasi-marginal position of the party within the regime and the gap existing between objectives, actual means and final results in the party action, interpretations of FET-JONS significance associate it to weakness and defeat, running the risk of trivializing its existence. This article aims to explain why the party remained within the regime and why it remained significant.

Damián A. González Madrid è professore di Storia contemporanea presso la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha. È autore di Los hombres de la dictadura (Biblioteca Añil, 2007), e di molti altri articoli dedicati ai differenti aspetti della dittatura franchista pubblicati su riviste nazionali e internazionali. È membro del Seminario de Estudios del Franquismo y la Transición, gruppo di ricerca al quale si deve il volume, recentemente pubblicato e al quale ha partecipato anche l’Autore, Claves internacionales en la transición española (Los Libros de la Catarata, 2010).
