Abstract

The Transition from Above. The Female Élites of the Dictatorship to Democracy

The objective of this article is to understand how political and social change developed among women belonging to the Spanish élites during the 1970s and 1980s. The members of the Women’s Section of FET-JONS and collegiate organizations, who developed a professional career opposed to those of the working or subaltern classes, and regardless of the traditional gender model that the regime had reserved for them are analyzed.
