Abstract

“La Civiltà cattolica”, “Critica fascista” and the Spanish Civil War.

The ideological trait of the conflict saw a deep involvement of the intellectuals in the first armed confrontation between Fascism and Anti-Fascism. This research pretends to analyze the war studying the comparison of two important magazines, both aimed at an intellectual élite of reactionary stance, albeit of different line.The unofficial character of both papers gave to the editorial boards a wider manoeuvring space in comparison with the official Church and Fascist publications.
